The Living Death (生死疫) is the 2nd chapter of Kami no Kuni.

Summary[]
As the sun sets, Jae-ha becomes blind and tells Yi Moon to continue alone, while he stays and fights the Shadow Warriors. While running, Yi Moon encounters two men from the Shadow Warriors and as they were about to kill him, Suni comes out of the bushes and bites one of them. They are surprised she is alive, considering they have killed her few minutes ago, but then see other men running towards them. They attack one of the men and eat him and proceeds towards the second and kill him too. Yi Moon sees a chance and runs, but Suni sees him and goes after him, but before she manages to capture him, someone pulls him away.
Meanwhile, Jae-ha fights them Shadow Warriors, but unable to see, he gets several injuries. The Shadow Warriors receive a signal and retreat, commenting he was lucky this time. Jae-ha sits down as he lots a lot of blood and wonders what happened. He smells blood in the wind and sounds of beasts mixed with human screams. He smells the blood coming closer, but someone grabs his hand and helps him out escape and reunite with Yi Moon. To escape the one chasing them, they climb a cliff. The woman explains those are the living death, and that each night corpses come back to life and eat humans. As they climb and are safe, Jae-ha passes out and dreams of a time he was general and how the royal highness has abandoned them on the battlefield. When he wakes up in the morning, he asks Yi Moon why he came back to him and Yi Moon explains that Jae-ha is one of his men and a king never abandons one of his own.
